Adriana Ana Maria Davidescu (Alexandru) is a senior researcher at the National Research Institute for Labour and Social Protection in Bucharest, with more than 18 years of expertise in socio-economic research, focusing especially on labor market analysis and the informal economy. She is a Full Professor at the Department of Statistics and Econometrics at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania, where she also directs the Data Science Research Lab, specializing in applications for business and economics. Her research is notably focused on the shadow economy and undeclared work, areas where she has developed profound insights into public policy impact evaluation, particularly in employment, competitiveness, research, development, and innovation. She is adept in quantitative and econometric modelling, multivariate analysis, as well as in advanced techniques such as machine learning and both micro and macroeconomic modelling. Adriana has led numerous national research projects and has notably served as a senior expert for the European Commission on the European Platform tackling Undeclared Work. Additionally, she played a crucial role as a senior modeling expert in the Human Capital Operational Program 2014-2020 Evaluation Plan. Her leadership and project management skills are evidenced by her coordination of over 14 national projects and her significant contributions to more than 50 national and international initiatives.
