Diana Agafitei is a research assistant at the National Scientific Research Institute for Labour and Social Protection, contributing to the Department of Education, Continuous Training, and Labor Market Relations. Currently engaged in the doctoral program of Cybernetics and Economic Statistics at Bucharest University of Economic Studies, her research focuses on tax evasion and the informal economy, employing a mix of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, alongside data science. Other research interests include the analysis of taxation systems, the link between the informal economy and the labour market, as well as the evaluation of public policies. She graduated from the Faculty of Economic Informatics, where she gained significant skills in programming and economics, leading her to complete a Master’s in Applied Statistics and Data Science as the top of her class. Currently, Diana is involved in a four-year Horizon project examining aspects of informality, consistently enriching her focus on this area through developing scientific papers, book chapters, and participating in conferences. Beyond research, Diana is an associate lecturer at Bucharest University of Economic Studies, demonstrating a passion for education and the empowerment of students through knowledge in statistics and data analytics.
