Research within Informality.ro explores the informal economy’s multifaceted impacts and its intersection with sustainable development, labour market dynamics, governance, and digitalization. Methodologically, we employ a range of empirical approaches, including Structural Vector Autoregressive (SVAR), Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL),  Multiple Indicators Multiple Causes (MIMIC) models and Currrency Demand Approach (CDA), to provide robust estimations and insights into shadow economies. Additionally, our studies utilize bibliometric and text analysis to uncover trends, key themes, influential works, and collaboration networks within the evolving landscape of informality research. We integrate statistical methods to measure informal economic activities’ impact on formal economies and assess their correlation with factors such as tax evasion, foreign direct investment, and labour market resilience.
